10 NNPP Fake Election Observers Arrested In Kano

On Saturday during the governorship and State House of Assembly elections, ten individuals who identified themselves as election observers were arrested in Fagge Local Government Area of Kano State for impersonating as members of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

Reports reveal that the arrest occurred as voters were preparing to cast their votes to elect new officials. These fake observers were spotted wearing brown jackets labelled as “Election Observers,” which drew the attention of people at the polling unit. Upon questioning, they were discovered to be NNPP members.

The police officers guarding the polling unit were alerted, and with the help of some individuals, the fake observers were apprehended. The individuals were later transferred to the State Police headquarters in Bompai for further investigation. LEADERSHIP reports that before now, the ruling party in the state, the All Progressives Congress (APC) had raised the alarm over the alleged plot by NNPP to deploy fake election observers during Saturday’s polls that is being keenly contested between the two political parties
