17 Days After APC House of Reps Primaries, Bauchi Aspirant Faults Result

Barely 17 days after the conduct of the primary elections for House of Representatives aspirants by the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bappa Tata, a contestant for Alkaleri/Kirfi Federal Constituency in Bauchi State has alleged that no election was held in the constituency.

Bappa Tata, Bello Mohammad Gidado, Musa Mohammad Pali and Alhaji Kabiru Yusuf were the aspirants who vied for the 2023 APC chit for Alkaleri/Kirfi Federal Constituency.

Hon Tata in an interview with Wikkitimes said that his other contestants hired thugs from Gombe and elsewhere to disrupt the peaceful conduct of the primaries. “They also hired thugs from Kirfi, Alkaleri, Bauchi and Gombe and as a result of that, some election officials were wounded.”

He alleged that the two hopefuls, Musa Pali and Kabiru Yusuf, connived between themselves with some security agents present who, according to him, allowed the irregularities to continue in their favour.

“When a delegate goes to cast vote, he wouldn’t be allowed to vote but to give it to a candidate’s agent who will cast for him,” an act that invalidates the voting procedure of the primaries.

He added that some of the aspirants confined the delegates to a location with the help of security agents sent to ensure peaceful conduct of the election, thus denying other contestants access to the delegates.
