At least 18 persons were reportedly killed in a fatal road crash on Thursday along Damatutu road.
The accident which occurred at about 1111hrs, involved a white Gulf modelled bus and bullion at Fune along Dogon Kuka-Damaturu road.
Rotimi Adeleye, the Zonal Commander of Zone of the Federal Road Safety Corps in a statement said the Gulf with the registration number KHE 454 XA was overloaded.
“Due to the impatience on the part of the Golf Driver, on approaching a U-turn and in his bid to Overtake the Bullion Van ahead, diverted into Damaturu- Dogon Kuka axis of the Dual carriageway facing on-coming vehicles.
“In the process, had a head-on collision with Blue Golf with registration No. BKD 74 SB. The number of people involved was 21, 9 Male Adults, 8 Female Adults, 2 Male Children and,2 female Children,” The statement read in part.
Marshal Adeleye said that the injured victims have been taken to the Damagun General hospital for medical care.
