Over Two Million Voters to Participate in Jigawa on Saturday

The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), says 2.1 million registered voters are expected to vote in the forthcoming general election in Jigawa.

Alhaji Usman Gabi, INEC Head of Operations in the state said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Dutse on Thursday.

According to Gabi, no fewer than 20,688 ad hoc staff have been recruited for the conduct of the election across the 27 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state.

He also explained that those engaged would serve as Returning Officers, Presiding Officers, Supervisors, Polling Clerks, Polling Orderlies, among others.

According to him, the commission has identified 287 registration areas with 4,522 voting points that consist of 2.2 million voters across the state.
