2019: NSCDC recorded 788 cases between January and March in Jigawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa Command, on Wednesday said it recorded 788 cases between January and March.

The spokesman for the command, Mr Abdullahi Adamu, who made this known in a statement in Dutse, said they  comprised  102 criminal and 686 civil cases.

Adamu said that the criminal cases comprised theft, vandalism, burglary, fraud, larceny, gross indecency, assault, forgery, resisting arrest, trespass, drug abuse, rape, and  sodomy.

He explained that the command had successfully secured conviction in 56 out of the 102 criminal cases, while 24 were still pending.

The spokesman added that seven others had been transferred to the relevant agencies for proper investigation.

According to him, the 686 civil cases handled by the corps within the period include family disputes, indebtedness, breach of contractual agreement, land disputes, tenancy disputes, among others.

Adamu also added that the NSCDC had successfully settled out of court 628 out of the 686 civil cases, while 58 were still pending.

He attributed the successes recorded to the commitment of the officers and men of the command as well as cooperation received from the residents of the state.

The spokesman, therefore, called for more support and cooperation from the public to enable the corps effectively discharge its functions.
