2023: Bauchi Govt Disburses N500 Million to Traders, Others

As the 2023 general elections knock, serving elected officials intensify subtle efforts to woo cheap votes and political sympathy, it is in line with this that the Bauchi state government commenced the disbursement of 500 million naira grant to traders, artisans and other business communities in the state.

Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammad, Chairman, Amalgamated Bauchi Traders and Artisans Multipurpose Cooperative Union, disclosed this to journalists in Bauchi on Monday.

Over 4000 traders and artisans drawn from the 20 local government areas of the state will benefit from the grant.

Abdullahi Caps, who is also a member of the disbursement committee, appreciated Governor Bala Mohammed for his foresight to assist the business community with the grant, saying it will go a long way in tackling unemployment and poverty in the state.

The grant will also enhance business activities thereby generating revenue for the state in addition to providing job opportunities to unemployed youth and women.

“I am happy to inform the people of Bauchi State particularly the business community that His Excellency, Governor Bala Mohammed has commenced the disbursement of a grant of 500 million naira to traders and artisans across the state. Alhamdulillah, I have received many calls from our members that they have already gotten their own grant through their account numbers. His Excellency has made us proud by commencing the disbursement of the grant even before the official launching,” he said.

The Chairman acknowledged the efforts of the governor towards his move to construct ultra-modern markets in various parts of the state as well as upgrading some markets to ultra-modern status, observing that, the move would significantly improve the economic fortune of the state.

Abdullahi Caps appealed to the beneficiaries to continue to support the state government in its effort to diversify the economy of the state as already the government has created an enabling environment for businesses to thrive for the promotion of trade, industries and investment.
