Barely 24 hours after Mwari Youth Forum refuted claims of possible breach of peace in Bogoro by the former speaker, house of representatives, Rt. Honourable Yakubu Dogara, another group known as Zauren Baba Gonto Youths Forum has insisted that the memorial anniversary is aimed at fostering peace in the area.
A press release jointly signed and issued by the chairman of the forum, Nasara Maiduka and the secretary, Zakka Babas respectively said they, in collaboration with concerned Zar Youths worldwide, are in receipt of an invitation to attend the occasion.
“We are in receipt of the invitation to attend the 21st memorial anniversary of our greatest legend Late Baba Gonto (of Blessed Memory)”, they reiterated.
“The late Legend Baba Gonto (1882-2000) was an evangelist, a great political leader and freedom fighter who tenaciously insisted on ensuring the liberation of the Zar people from all forms of slavery”, the group added.
According to them, the late sage founded the famous “Zauren Baba Gonto” alongside his Associates in which he sacrificed his days for the benefit of the Zar people.
The youth group said they are an Association of all Zar youths who believe in the ideals and struggles for the emancipation and liberation of their land and people as spearheaded by the greatest legend Late Baba Gonto and his Associates.
“We strongly believe that the event is very apt and will promote peace, unity and progress of our people worldwide. We, therefore, wish to use this medium to show our profound gratitude to the convener of the event”, the group said.
The youth while declaring total support towards the peaceful celebration of the legend, thanked Bala Mohammed for his untiring efforts towards the development of Zaar Chiefdom and the State at large.
They also commended the governor for taking a bold step and initiative in constituting a powerful committee to resolve the agelong dispute concerning the actualization of the Zar Chiefdom once and for all.
“The forum observed with great dismay that certain few enemies of the progress of Zar people are passing through sleepless nights making efforts to ensure that the event is cancelled for their egocentric reasons.
According to them, such persons have sponsored social media goons to spread lies and fake news claiming that the said celebration has been postponed.
The forum while describing the effort as a joke taken too far appealed to members of the public to disregard in totality any fake news claiming that the memorial has been postponed.
The press release dismissed such actions as the pare handwork of mischief makers who are threatening the peace and security of the land because of the event.
“We, therefore wish to inform the world that Zaar land has been peaceful and will continue to be peaceful by the grace of God as all well-meaning Zaar people are united in support of the memorial”, the forum noted.
