3 Months Of Unreported Killings In Zamfara

For over three months, Zugu village in Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State has come under incessant attacks by the waylaying terrorists who kidnapped over 40 worshipers in the village’s mosque on Friday.

A special adviser to the state governor, Yusuf Zugu, stated that the marauders have been wreaking havoc for three months unhindered. According to him, the bandits before invading the mosque had razed down the Zugu Police Station, residential buildings, shops and food stores. At least, 13 people have lost their lives so far, he said.

WikkiTimes also gathered that there have been unending attacks in Kyaram and Adabka wards in Bukkuyum LGA where the bandits raid both day and night.

During the period, bandits also killed two people and kidnapped 15 others in Gadar Zaima community, on a market day. In addition, residents of Taka-Lafiya and Kairu communities have also deserted their homes to escape the unending invasions.

About 20 people were killed in Balhi, Wawan Iccen Salihu and Wawan Iccen Ibra communities, WikkiTimes learnt.

These renewed raids have intensified fear and impeded peace in the vicinity, grounding farming and market activities as well.
