A 4-year-old girl (name withheld) sustained a broken hymen after she was raped by her septuagenarian uncle, Isa Nana Okpoku, according to Nasarawa Police Command.
The 75-year-old Okpoku, before violating his niece, lured her into his room at Daddare Development Area in Obi local council where they both reside. He would later be arrested by the police.

Confirming the arrest in a statement, the spokesman for Nasarawa Police Command, Rahman Nansel said the suspect was arrested by police operatives attached to Obi Division. According to him, the suspect was arrested following a report filed at the Divisional Police Headquarters on December 10, 2022.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect and his niece are both residents in the same house thus, he lured the victim into his room and willfully had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

The victim was, however, rushed to the hospital for medical examination where the doctor confirmed the hymen is broken,” he said.
Reacting to the incident, Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, Maiyaki Mohammed Baba ordered a comprehensive investigation into the matter, adding that the suspect will be charged to court for prosecution upon conclusion.
