Malam Suleiman Abdullahi, the Chief Imam of Khalid bin Waleed Juma’at mosque, Gwallagan Mayaka in Bauchi State has appealed to party delegates from various political parties not to make bad choices during the forthcoming primary elections.
Suleiman made the call during his Friday sermon. The Imam said delegates’ decisions during party primaries will make or mar Nigeria, depending on the kind of aspirants chosen to represent each party at the general election.
The Chief Imam said the choices of party delegates will inform the kind of credible leaders Nigeria will produce during the general election.

He described delegates’ responsibilities during party primaries as a trust bestowed on them by the general public, hence the need for them to fear Allah in this onerous task ahead.
The Imam who quoted verses of the Holy Qur’an and Hadith of the Prophet to juxtapose his argument said any altercation of the trust by the delegates will attract the wrath of God on the day of judgement.
WikkiTimes can report that party delegates across different political parties are usually accused of selling their votes to the highest bidders during parties’ primaries, an omen many spectators argue will mar Nigeria’s quest for good governance.Â
The Chief Imam also called on Muslims to obtain their Permanent Voters’ Card to enable them to vote for candidates of their choice in the 2023 general elections.
