For Homosexuality, Three Bauchi Men Bag Death By Stoning

Munka’ilu Sabo, the Judge of Sharia Court sitting in Ningi, Ningi Local Government of Bauchi State has convicted and sentenced three persons to death by stoning for homosexuality.

The Judge while delivering the judgment Wednesday, after statements by witnesses as well as the admittance of guilt by the three accused persons, found them guilty of homosexuality and consequently sentenced them to death by stoning.

Abdullahi Abubakar Beti, 30, Kamilu Ya’u, 20, and Haruna, 70, were first arraigned before the court on June 14, 2022, when members of the Hisbah Vanguard operating in Ningi Local Government through Adamu Dan Kafi prosecuted them.

According to the Hisbah, the trio were arrested for committing the offence of homosexuality at Gwada village in Ningi Local Government.

Based on the provision of 134 of Bauchi State penal law of 2001, as well as the provisions of Fiquhussunah Jizu’I number 2 at page 362, the Judge sentenced the convicts to death by stoning
