African Action Congress (AAC) and Young Progressives Party (YPP) chave each won a councillor seat in the Saturday’s local government elections in Bauchi.
Yunusa Muhammed of AAC defeated his closet rival Ashiru Muhammad of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to represent Papa ward in Darazo local government.
He polled 1,156, while his runner up scored 1,053 whereas Idris Muhammad of the All Progressive Congress (APC) got 290 votes.
Meanwhile in Dass local government, Samira shuaibu Maikano of YPP defeated the other candidates of the PDP and APC to clinch the position to represent Wandi Ward.
She polled 1610 votes while PDP and APC candidates scored 1352 and 230 votes respectively.
