Activities Of Bauchi Governor Within The Week Under Review

His Excellency Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi had last week inspected the ongoing renovation of Government House Bauchi where he expressed satisfaction with the work so far done.

The governor describe the ongoing  renovation as “a magnificent structure” that will reposition the Bauchi State government house.

The governor also had an interaction  with Honestech Nigeria Limited, a firm that expresses willing to invest in Zaranda Hotel Bauchi, Gubi Resort and Polo Club; all aimed at enhancing the development of the state. The investment by the firm aim to boost local industry and trade, improve revenue generation and job creation.

 The governor who welcomed the firms also promised to protect their investment for sustainability.

 The Governor reassured the  Federal Government with assurance to comply with guidelines on investments in an effort to reduce dependence on Federation Account.

 Bauchi Among States Governments That Poorly Interacted With Citizens Via Emails During COVID-19 Pandemic, Despite ICT Advancement

During the week Governor  Mohammed had an interaction with UN Women via zoom platform where he emphasised that gender equality is one of the cardinal principles of his administration.

Governor Mohammed who thanked the UN Women for its continued support to Bachi State government over its drive to enhance the potentials of women also reiterated the commitment of the State Government to upholding the values of women.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment on the importance of ending impunity by punishing gender-based violence predators; and ensured access to justice for all survivors of heinous crimes.

 The leader of the delegation Comfort said the meeting would review current partnership and explore avenues to strengthen government the mechanism to eliminating violence against women.

 The Governor had also last within the week under review met with the 20 local government chairmen and their deputies, security agencies to strengthen their working relationship aimed at addressing the evolving security challenges.

 Bala Mohammed pledged to  continue supporting  the elected Chairmen to enable them perform effectively and meet the yearnings and aspirations of citizens

 He expressed concern over the security challenges facing local government areas of the state and stressed the need for all the stakeholders to join hands to tackle the menace head-on.

 The Governor assured that his administration will work with the Local Government areas to enable them provide citizens with the needed social amenities.

 Governor Mohammed over the week also hosted the management of Baze University Abuja led by its proprietor  Senator Datti Baba Ahmed. He commended the University for its contribution to the educational development in the country.

The Governor pledged to partner with the University to provide educational assistance to best students to study in the private institution.

The proprietor Baba Ahmed however said Baze University will partner with the  State  Government to offer a 75 per cent discount to all students enrolled by the Government.

Governor Mohammed also in the week under review hosted the  Minister State for Agriculture, Honourable Mustapha Shehuri, appreciating Shehuri for monitoring and evaluating mechanisms through regular inspection of projects in the sector. 

The Governor said his administration will continue to leverage  opportunities in the federal establishments to access various projects geared towards improving the living standards of the citizens. 

He said 10 thousand hectares of land has been provided for the production of products in the state and commended the Federal Ministry of Agriculture for engaging  youths to serve as extension agents adding that his administration looks forward to furthering  collaboration with the State Government and the Federal Government. 

Shehuri  however said the Ministry will continue to support the state  to boost its agriculture especially rice production, he added that 15,000  youths have been engaged as village extension workers in a move to ensure the advancement of the sector. 

His Excellency Mohammed in the week under review also paid a condolence visits to Akwa Ibom Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel.

over the death of Nigeria’s Former Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Nsikak Eduok, Ubong Udo Ekpenyong and Otuekong Idongesit Nkanga. 

The Governor described the loss, saying that it leaves behind an irreplaceable gap in the heart of Nigerians and sympathized with the people of the state on the deaths. 

Mohammed also visited  Delta state for condolences of Pa Arthur Okorie Okowa, a father to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Delta State Ifeanyi Okowa.

 In the week under review Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed gave out his daughter, Dr Hauwa Bala Mohammed to the son of the Emir of Azara in Nasarawa State, Lawal Adamu.
