Adamawa Female Gov’ship Candidate, Binani Wants Results Reviewed

Aisha Binani, governorship candidate for All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State has urged Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to review the gubernatorial results in some local councils before organizing a rerun.

She made the plea during a programme on Channels TV on Friday, where she contends that her victory would be a win for female gender.

INEC had earlier declared Adamawa results inconclusive over some irregularities.

Before the declaration, Ahmadu Fintiri, the incumbent governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was said to have won 13 local councils while Binani triumphed in seven.

Binani indicted PDP and Fintiri of militarisig the election. She alleged that INEC ad-hoc staff were not present in some polling centres.

However, Binani said she is not afraid to go to supplementary polls with Fintiri.

She said: “I am never afraid but all I am asking is that the INEC should conduct a review of the said LGAs so that it will bring out the real figures for all the candidates.
