A few days after the gruesome murder of a woman in a hotel in Yola, the Adamawa State government has issued a six-week ultimatum to hotel owners in the state to install functional CCTV cameras or face the full wrath of the law.
The ultimatum came following concerns raised by citizens of the state after the discovery of a beheaded woman in a hotel in Yola, the state capital on January 18.
The state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri while meeting with hoteliers said his administration will not fold its hands while innocent citizens are being killed and yet the perpetrators going unabated.
Represented by his Deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, Fintiri said any hotel owner who failed to install surveillance cameras by the end of the six-week ultimatum has himself to be blamed for the outcome.

“We won’t sit as government and watch while our citizens are being disseminated and killed one by one”.
“After six weeks, any hotel without CCTV cameras, the government will have the right to take its decision,” said Fintiri.
While assuring their compliance with the order, Chief Samuel Adwata, Chairman Hoteliers Association, promised that they would abide by the directive by fixing the CCTV surveillance cameras in all the hotels in the state.
WikkiTimes recalled that a woman was found beheaded by hotel staff on Thursday, January 18, in a hotel while the perpetrator of the act fled with the head undetected by hotel authorities.
