After Pocketing N6 Million Ransom, Zamfara Bandits Kill 29

Days after a gang of Zamfara terrorists abducted 262 residents of Randa, a community in Maru local government area of the state, the blood-sucking terror group killed 29 persons despite forcefully collecting a whopping N6,000,000 in ransom from the locals.

WikkiTimes gathered that the terrorists slapped a N20 million peace deal on the community.

Abdulbaqee, a journalist who is familiar with the security trends in banditry-ravaged Zamafara communities, said the terrorists released the remaining abductees from Randa community after the ransom was paid.

Abdulbaqee wrote on his Twitter handle that, “29 people out of over 200 people abducted in Randa community of Maru LGA of Zamfara state have been killed by the Armed bandits, after collecting N4M as ransom, the Armed group request the community to pay N20m as peace settlement”.

One of the victims who pleaded anonymity told BBCHausa that, “they abducted 262 of us, they released us on Sunday. They kept us in five groups”.

He added, “We gave them 6 million and they insisted that we must pay the remaining balance of N30 million they requested”.

WikkiTimes reported that irate bandits have killed 20 locals and abducted dozens, mainly males in Randa community of Maru local government, after losing two riffles in a gun with a rival armed group.

The fight ensued between them after terrorists loyal to Lawali Damina, a bandits’ kingpin in the area and another armed group over a lady who recently moved into the community from Shinkafi.
