Ahead of Bauchi Gov’ship Election, Communities Seek Direction From Kirfi

Ahead of this year’s gubernatorial election in Bauchi State, residents of Gwabba and Ganjuwa communities of Bauchi metropolis have pledged their political loyalty to elder statesman, Muhammadu Bello Kirfi following his removal as Wazirin Bauchi. 

Speaking on behalf of the communities during a solidarity visit to the elder statesman at his residence in Bauchi, Muhammad Sallau Kafi said to them, Kirfi is not only a father but also a leader who symbolises the yearnings of his people. 

While expressing displeasure over the removal of Kirfi from his former traditional role of Wazirin Bauchi, Sallau alleged that the move was “purely politically motivated but time will tell. It is a matter of time.”

He added that, “We are awaiting the directives of Baba Waziri on who to vote for Bauchi governor in March. We will do whatever he asked us to do and will do it vigorously to show the world that the elder statesman is relevant and indispensable.” 

My Removal As Wazirin Bauchi Doesn’t Shake Me – Kirfi

Sallau said being leaders of the communities, they have an unalloyed loyalty to Kirfi and have already subscribed to his political ideology as well as vendetta. 

Responding, Muhammadu Bello Kirfi commended the leaders of the communities for the sympathy extended to him, adding that he has more freedom to now stood firm in the defence of the interest of his people. 

He described his removal from the traditional role of Wazirin Bauchi as an act of destiny. “I am relieved of a burden that can now give me more freedom to, as a person, defend the defenceless.” 

WikkiTimes recalls that Kirfi was removed from his traditional role of Wazirin Bauchi for allegedly disrespecting Governor Bala Mohammed. His successor, Muhammadu Uba Ahmed Kari was turbaned last Friday at the palace of Emir of Bauchi.
