Three photographs of President Bola Tinubu and Omoyele Sowore have been circulating across social media.
As at Sunday April 4, the photographs circulated on WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, the four major platforms patronized by Nigerians.
Sowore is the opposition presidential candidate of the Africa Action Congress in the 2023 general election.
Sowore purportedly visited Aso Rock the Nigeria seat of government where he was received by President Tinubu as shown in the fake photos.
WikkiTime checks confirm that these photographs were generated by Artificial intelligence, AI.
First, the shoes worn by Sowore are of different colours. In one of the photographs, he wa wearing a pair of black shoes and in another, the colour of his shoes were brown.
Secondly, the badge on president Tinubu’s blue dress were showing on the right side of a photo, while it is on the left side in the second photo.
The color shades of the president dress also varies from navy blue to deep blue.
Lastly, Sowore who is 5.8 cm in height looks slightly taller in the photo shared online.
WikkiTimes spoke to Sowore who debunked the claim of his visit to Aso
“I’ve seen the photos, and it reeks of desperation. It appears they now consider me the most credible candidate, to the point of fabricating a fake AI endorsement just to prop up Tinubu. In the end, it only signals one thing, Tinubu will have to hand over power to Sowore soon.”
WikkiTimes contacted Tinubu spokesman Bayo Onanuga for comment. He has not responded as at the time of publication.
