Anxiety as 18-Year-Old Boy Found Slaughtered in Bauchi Community

Residents of Misau, a local government in Bauchi State, have been thrown into despair following the death of an 18-year-old boy who was found slaughtered in Unguwar Baba Iyalu, Misau.

The deceased, Umar Isma’il, was alleged to have been killed by yet-to-be-identified assailants, and his body was reportedly dumped in the area Thursday midnight.

Eyewitnesses confirmed to The WikkiTimes that the deceased’s body was found with his throat slashed, hand amputated and machete wounds around his body, with no trace of blood within the vicinity.

A source who pleaded anonymity said the body was allegedly dumped in the middle of the night but was later discovered Friday morning. This, he noted, led the residents to alert the security agencies.

“We discovered his body dumped by the wall of a house. There was no trace of blood. His throat was slit, his one hand amputated and some cuts around his body. What surprised most is that they washed his body before coming to dump it”.

Most residents described the deceased to this correspondent as gentle and easy-going, the reason the community felt the pain.

“We don’t know who did it and dumped the body here. We strongly believe that he was dumped in the middle of the night”, another source added.

According to a family source, the incident occurred shortly after the deceased returned from his father’s vulcanizing workshop.

Efforts to reach Ahmed Muhammed Wakili, Bauchi State Police Command spokesperson, to confirm the incident were unsuccessful, as several phone calls to his mobile number were unanswered. A Short Message Service (SMS) sent to him was also not responded to of the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, officials from the local government paid a condolence visit to the deceased’s family. They pledged to work with the security operatives to ensure the victim gets justice.
