An APC group, Democratic Platform has endorsed a former Bauchi State Governor Mallam Isa Yuguda for the position of the All Progressives Congress’ national chairman scheduled to hold early next year.
In a Press Release signed by the group leader Muktar Jarmajo, the group said it endorsed the former Governor based on the experience he possesses which according to the group can take the ruling party to victory in 2023 elections.
The group stated that the position of the national chairmanship of the party will however be keenly contested, arguing that Yuguda remains the best politician vying for the seat.
“Even at that meanwhile, Mallam Isa Yuguda former Bauchi state Governor stands taller among them. The gentleman politician is dynamic and vastly experienced. He is an economist of repute who has gone to the peak of his banking career.
“As a politician, Isa Yuguda was at several times a minister of Federal Republic and a Governor of Bauchi State”. The statement partly read.
The political group added that Isa Yuguda has at different instances exhibited a great ability to get things done even in the tightest situation and for what he demonstrated in negotiations.
The group said based on his antecedents, Yuguda is the most qualified candidate in the race for the ruling party’s chairmanship.
APC National Convention is expected to hold next year with some influential party members eyeing the seat, which includes former PDP national Chairman and former Borno State Governor, Alh. Ali Madu Sharif.
