Arson Razes 100 Computers At FCE Zaria

A fire outbreak at the Federal College of Education, Zaria, Kaduna State has destroyed ver 100 computers on the campus.

Firefighters arrived at the scene of the incident and made efforts to put out the fire which was said to have started from an outlet powering the Uninterruptible Power Source (UPS).

Dr Suleiman Balarabe, the provost of the college who confirmed the incident, noted that measures are being put in place to avoid such eventualities in future.

The provost of the College, Dr Suleiman Balarabe, said that henceforth the new rule in the institution is that all electrical appliances must be switched off after working hours, and also he assured that the computers would be replaced.

“I will also bring out some computers previously given to the college by TETFund and provide a temporary place for usage to enable students to continue academic activities pending the repairs of the burnt building.

“I must sincerely thank the effort of ABU Kongo and the Kaduna State Fire Service personnel who came to our rescue immediately when the fire started,”
