The management of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) in Bauchi State has disassociated itself from an online advertisement for the sale of 2022/2023 academic pre-degree application forms into its remedial school.
The institution’s acting registrar, Hajiya Aisha Idris, in a statement obtained by WikkiTimes, noted that the advertisement was being circulated by unknown “fraudulent persons.”
“We wish to categorically inform the general public that the online advertisement, which is false and fraudulent, does not emanate from the university,” she stated.
“The advert has neither been endorsed/signed by the registrar nor the director of the basics and remedial studies,” the statement read further, adding that sales of application forms for admission into our remedial and IJMB programmes are conducted online via the official website of the university; https:// Www.rih.atbu.edu.ng/rems/ (For remedial) or https:// www.rih.atbu.edu.ng/ijmb/ (For IJMB).
She added: “The management, therefore, considered such illegal acts as capable of defrauding innocent members of the public and could tarnish the hard-earned image of the university.
The management, however, advised the general public to disregard the advertisement and to be vigilant against any fraudulent activities, please.”
