The Deputy Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Hon.Danlami Ahmed Kawule has distributed Ramadan palliatives to 400 people of his constituency
as part of efforts to cushion their hardships during the month of Ramadan.Distributing the items at his residence, Danlami Kawule saidthe gesture “is to cushion the hardships people face especially during thisholy month of Ramadan and also to encourage people stay at home as part ofsocial distancing measures to reduce the spread of coronavirus in Bauchi state”,he said.
He said despite having the largest constituency among Bauchilaw makers, he will ensure that his gesture is spread across the constituency toenable more people benefit.
“I want people to know that we cannot feed everyone lookingat the proximity and size of this constituency, I therefore appeal to everyoneto contribute their quota in helping the less privilege”, he opined.
Danlami Ahmed Kawule who is representing Zungur/Galambi atthe Bauchi State House of Assembly said, “these bags of rice and cash is forevery polling unit in the constituency; you know I have the largestconstituency in Bauchi, therefore reaching out to every household is verydifficult, I urge you to manage what I’m able to afford.
“I also hope that you will judiciously utilize the cash andrice to reduce unnecessary movement so that we will collectively fight COVID-19in Bauchi State, because the dangers of this novel virus are eminent. “Unfortunatelymany of us are not adhering to guidelines that will help curtail the spread ofthis virus; I want to remind you that if you became the link through whichsomeone is infected with this virus, then you are responsible if he eventuallydies”, Danlami Kawule warned.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Ahmad Ibrahim whoapplauded the effort of the Deputy Speaker called on the constituents to usethe items judiciously.
“I want to thank you for your stewardship and this gesturehas reminded all of us that you have never gone far away from your constituents,any opportunity that comes your way, you always support us”, he said.
Another beneficiary, Alhaji Ayuba Inuwa said “we appreciate yourkindness and dexterity in ensuring that even your opponents benefit from your magnanimityin reaching out to many people irrespective of religious or political differences”,he said.
