BAHA Members Reject LG Elections Results, Urge Aggrieved Candidates To Challenge Outcome At Tribunal

Twenty out of the 31 members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly have rejected the outcome of the Bauchi State local government elections that took place on Saturday, October 17th across the 20 LGAs of the State.


The Assembly members in a statement signed by Hon.  Tijjani Mohammed Aliyu, majority leader of the house says the assembly is distancing itself from “so called elections of the local governments.”
“We write to assure our teeming supporters that the Twenty APC members in Bauchi State House Assembly disassociate themselves from this act and  so called elections of the local governments.
“We urge our members to remain calm and be law abiding citizens of Bauchi State and Nigeria at large. We advise all aggrieved aspirants to take the part of honour and challenge the action legally”, the statement read in part.The House of Assembly in Bauchi State is controlled by the APC, with 20 out of 31 members.


WikkiTimes recalls that the All Progressives Congress had in a press conference on Sunday also described the LG Polls as “Day Light Robbery.”


Uba Nana, Chairman of the party in the State says his party won the LG elections, but was rigged by the PDP.


The PDP Chairman in the State, Alhaji Hamza Koshe Akuyam denied any wrong doing, saying the polls were credible.
