Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has laid the foundation for the c construction of Ultra Modern Market in Azare, Katagum local government area of the state.
WikkiTimes learned that Ultra Modern Market houses 648 shops. The shops ranged from Lockup and open shops complemented by warehouse, fire station, outpost police station and road network.
Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of the state said this during the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the market in Azare town on Saturday.
The governor said his government resolved to construct the market after an inferno razed Azare central market some couple of years ago.
He said the project will be implemented through a private partnership with the government providing land to Modern Shelter, the construction company that consolidated the partnership with the government.
Governor Bala said the partnership will afford the government the opportunity to revitalize and diversify the economy of the Bauchi State for more wealth creation.
He said the Ultra Modern Market Azare is part of plans to upgrade Bauchi Central Market and Muda Lawal Market.
Managing Director of Modern Shelter, Abdulmalik Mahdi thanked the governor for awarding the contract for the construction of the market which was burned by an inferno some years back.
He promised to commence the construction of the market with immediate effect, adding that when constructed, the market will create job opportunities for the people of the area and boost the economy of the state.
