The dynamic administration of Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad of Bauchi State stands out as a pace-setter in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the North East geo-political zone.
Governor Bala Mohammed is passionate about the 17 global goals and therefore his administration has integrated the SDGs in to Bauchi State Development Plan.
The Governor believes strongly that the global goals adopted by the United Nations on September 25, 2015 are in tandem with the Agenda of his administration. He is optimistic that this measure will enable his administration improve the livelihoods, invest in health and ensure access to life-saving services.

He also believes that the implementation of the SDGs will boost environmental sustainability as well as guarantee social cohesion and peace for its citizens.
He is therefore, leaving nothing to chance in his efforts to make a difference in the lives of his people through the holistic implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The administration has evidently demonstrated her unequivocal commitment in the adoption of the SDGs .
The first step taken by Bauchi State government on it journey to sustainable development was to prioritised the actualisation of the global goals through his reform Agenda.
Secondly, to appoint a competent, capacitated and a focal person to direct the affairs of the the agency.
SDGs: Bauchi State score card on health sector Before the inception of the Bala Mohammed administration on May 29, 2019, the immediate past administration of Bauchi State under a failed leadership of M.A Abubakar have not done enough to implement the set goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as well as to uplift the status of human development in the state.
A review of the sectoral performance of Bauchi State SDGs under M.A. Abubakar was abysmal failure.
Records available indicated that the former Chief Executive officer, M.A. Abubakar archived absolutely nothing in terms of alleviating poverty, improving healthcare delivery and to enhance quality education among global goals of SDGs in the state.
Therefore, based on Governor Bala Mohammed desire to promote good governance and healthcare delivery, which is the core of his administration’s health sector policy, to repositioned some primary healthcare center for accelerated technological growth.
And to ensure that the unfinished business of SDGs under the watch of his predecessor is concluded with the SDGs. Governor Bala Mohammed decided to put in place a committed officer to carry out the works that would enhance good lives and quality of living.
Under the able leadership of Dr. Esther Ahmed, Bauchi State SDGs has sofar executed unprecedented number of projects in the area of health sector as follows:
Constructions Main Primary Healthcare Building, Medical staff Quarter, V.I.P Toilet, Perimiter Fencing & Landscaping, Drilling and installation Solar Powered Borehole and the supply of the medical equipment in Mansur, ALKALERI LGA.
Construction of Dispensary, V.I.P Toilet and Drilling and Installation of Solar Powered Borehole at Gwaltukurwa, in Dass LGA.
Construction of staff Quarter Duplex, V.I.P Toilet, Perimeter Fencing and Landscaping, Redevelopment of main PHC Building and the Drilling and Installation of Solar Powered Borehole at Ganjuwa.
Constructions Main Primary Healthcare Building, Medical staff Quarter, V.I.P Toilet, Perimiter Fencing & Landscaping, Drilling and installation Solar Powered Borehole and the supply of the medical equipment in Dunkurmi MISAU LGA.

Distribution of 700,000 face masks to beneficiaries in the state as part of its efforts to curtail the spread of COVID-19.
Distribution of 200 Hospital beds; 200 mattresses; 200 pillows; 200 bed side lockers; and 200 drip water stands to some selected primary healthcare across the state.
No doubt, the Bauchi State government is pushing ahead with the implementation of the SDGs despite the prevailing economic difficulties in Nigeria
