Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, Bauchi State Governor, has approved the payment of all backlog of scholarships to Bauchi State Students.
The Governor stated this on Tuesday when he hosted the National Union of Bauchi State Students, NUBASS on a courtesy visit at the Government House.
He expressed concern that the previous administration did not take care of the students’ welfare promised that very soon the scholarship board will begin disbursement of the funds.
According to him, his administration has priorities education by constructing and renovating new schools and provision of instructional materials.
He called on NUBASS to introduce biometric for all indigenes of the state in order to fish out ghost students.
The governor assured that his Government is determined to provide a conducive environment for Bauchi state youths to enable them to contribute to the growth and development of the state.
Speaking earlier, the National President of the union Mahmoud Abubakar said they will soon embark on a sensitization campaign to all campuses across the country to showcase the good deeds of the governor.
While applauding Government commitment in the education sector, he promised that NUBASS will continue to support the Government at all times.
