‘Bamayi’ — Kaduna Youths Reject Tinubu’s Candidature

Youths in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, yesterday, stood against the candidacy of Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, presidential flag bearer for All Progressive Congress (APC).

The youths could be seen in a video posted on Twitter, chanting ‘Bamayi’ which loosely translated into Hausa as ‘We are not doing.’

The youths hurled this against Tinubu as security operatives tried to disperse them.

Yesterday, Tinubu alongside his running mate, Kashim Shetima and the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) were at the palace of Emir of Birnin Gwari, a banditry-ravaged area in Kaduna.

At the palace, Tinubu was also crowned with the traditional title of ‘Dakare of Birnin Gwari (Defender of Birnin Gwari).

WikkiTimes understands that the youths were protesting negligence by political office holders amid incessant bandits attack in the axis.

Birnin Gwari is known for attacks (by terror groups), counter-attacks (by military operatives) and supremacy fights among the terror groups.
