Barely hours after Kaduna State Government announced release of 137 abducted Kuriga School children, the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has deployed 200 highly trained members of police Special Squad team to the state to fight banditry.
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State said apart from the 200 trained personnel, the IGP has also donated two Armored Personnel Carriers (APC) in an attempt to help the state fight banditry, kidnapping and other form of insecurity bedevilling the state.
The governor said the deployment of the personnel is part of the earlier promise made by the IGP when he visited the state.
“Today, I received two Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs) and 200 highly trained members of the Special Squad of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) deployed to Kaduna State by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun to strengthen the fight against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other forms of criminality”.
“This is a promise fulfilled. During his last visit to Kaduna State, the IGP promised to send equipment and personnel to strengthen the fighting capability and efficiency of the Nigeria Police Force in Kaduna State”, the governor said in a tweet.
WikkiTimes had earlier reported the abducted children from Kuriga school in Kaduna State have been released on Sunday morning.
The state governor Uba Sani announced this in an official statement via his official X account.
