The district head of Kasuwar Daji, Alhaji Ibrahim Fada was abducted by bandits terrorising Kaura Namoda local council in Zamfara State.
According to a Twitter post, the bandits invaded his residence in the early hours of Thursday, April 27.
The victim, according to the tweet, is the father of Anas Fada Kaura, a member of the Zamfara State House of Assembly.
“Bandits in their numbers have stormed Kasuwar Daji village of Kaura Namoda Local government area in Zamfara state and abducted the District head Alh. Ibrahim S/Fada Kasuwar Daji, father to the serving member of the Zamfara state house of assembly Hon. Anas S Fada Kaura,” the tweet reads.”Reports from the village revealed that the incident occurred in the wee hours of today (Thursday).”
Mohammed Shehu, spokesman for Zamfara Police Command, confirmed the abduction to WikkiTimes. He said police operatives have been deployed in search of the victim “in a bid to rescue him hale and hearty.”
“We are currently on a search and rescue mission,” he told our reporter. “The rescue operation is in progress in a bid to rescue him hale and hearty and arrest the hoodlums and make them face the wrath of the law.”
The monarch’s abduction comes some days after the Zamfara State Government reinstated a suspended emir of Yandoto emirate, Aliyu Marafa, who was asked to step aside after coronating a notorious terrorist, Ado Aleru as the Sarkin Fulanin Yandoto.
In July 2022, Premium Time reported that the plan by the emirate to honour Aleru who leads hundreds of fighters to terrorize residents and motorists in Zamfara and other north-west states was part of efforts to bring peace to the area.
