Bandits Kill 13, Abduct Village Head In Katsina

Bandits in Katsina State have killed at least 13 people and many others abducted in attacks they carried out on Tuesday morning in three communities in the state.

The attacks started on Monday night and affected Gidan Kanawa, Guga, and Dukawa communities in Bakori and Funtua Local Government Areas of the State.

A resident in one of the communities told newsmen that the terrorists were moving from house to house and looting shops, stating that they killed 3 persons at Gidan Kanawa community.

He said they later attacked two other communities in Funtua Local Government Area where they killed 10 residents and abducted the village head, Alhaji Umar.

The bandits were also reported to have looted shops and houses, and also stole money in the three communities.

These villages are all in the southern part of Katsina state sharing boundaries with Kaduna state.
