The Kebbi State Police Command has foiled a bandit attack on Zodi community in Zuru Local Government Area, killing several assailants and recovering stolen cattle and sheep.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, personnel of the No. 36 Police Mobile Force (PMF) Squadron, Birnin Kebbi, responded swiftly to a distress report and engaged the bandits in a gun battle, killing several of them and forcing others to flee.
The police recovered two motorcycles, 96 cows, and 45 sheep, which have been handed over to the village head of Zodi for return to their rightful owners.
The Kebbi State Police Command has assured the public of its continued efforts to combat banditry and ensure the safety of citizens.
This latest development is a significant boost to the state’s efforts to curb insecurity, coming on the heels of the police’s recent operations against terrorist groups in the region.
