BASEPA Tasks Communities On Forest Reservation

Bauchi State Environmental Protection Agency, BASEPA has demanded communities in the state make deliberate efforts to protect and preserve forest resources in their backyard.

The Director-General of BASEPA, Dr Ibrahim Kabir in an interview with in Bauchi said proper and collective management of the huge forest resources Bauchi State is endowed with will ensure a favourable friendly environment for all.

He said the media, traditional institutions and foresters form the base part of motives to minimize the risks of desert encroachment facing Bauchi state at the moment. 

Dr Kabir said that people are directly responsible for whatever went wrong in the environment, adding that communities must see the need to collectively jettison environmental harmful practices for the benefit of all. 

The Director-General advised the foresters and other relevant stakeholders to always work in synergy with locals and act within the perimeter of law as Bauchi State have documented forest protection legal provisions.
