Bauchi APC Faction Protests Minister Adamu Adamu’s “Impunity”, Seeks Mai Mala Muni’s Intervention

A faction of the All Progressives Congress APC, from Bauchi State Chapter of the party, has staged a protest at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja over the indemnity of Education Minister Malam Adamu Adamu in Bauchi APC.

The protesters demand the Minister to ‘come out clean’ from the crisis rocking the APC in Bauchi in the aftermath of the recently concluded congress of the party in the state which produced two separate leaders for the party in the state.

Maigari Ishaku, Spokesperson of the group, while addressing reporters in Abuja said that any attempt by any overzealous stakeholder of the party to install an unpopular candidate to lead the party in Bauchi would amount to poor performance by the party in the forthcoming 2023 general elections in the state.

“We are praying His Excellency, Mai Mala Buni to come and intervene because Mai Mala Buni stood for honesty, his legacy cannot be defeated and his legacy cannot be undermined.

“Two, not only Mai Mala Buni, we know there are APC stakeholders; they are there but because of one thing or the other, they don’t want to come out and say one or two things. Please let them come out from their shells.

“What we want the caretaker committee to do is to help us and install the elected person; the person that won the election is Alhaji Sanusi Aliyu Kunde,” he said.

Punch reports that the protesters numbered dozens, insisted that Malam Adamu Adamu should allow popular votes of members of the APC in Bauchi State to determine the leader of the party.

WikkiTimes recalls that two parallel chairmen emerged at the end of the party’s congress in Bauchi with each of the duos of Hon Babayo Aliyu Misau and Sunusi Aliyu Kunde both from Misau LGA claiming to be the duly elected chairman of the party in the State.
