Bauchi Awards ICT Scholarship To 100 Students

Bauchi State Government has awarded Scholarship on computer and entrepreneurship Development Programmes to 100 youths selected across the state.

The beneficiaries are to undergo eighteen months of training in computer hardware and software engineering as well as various vocational training at Almuhibbah Institute of ICT and entrepreneurship development Abuja.

The Programme which is under the State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development was a collaboration between the State Government and the institute.

Addressing the beneficiaries during the official flagging off in Bauchi, the State First lady Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed said the move was part of the State Government Education Intervention Programmes aimed at building the capacity of the younger generation on ICT and other skills.

Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed who is the founder of the institute noted she personally sponsored twenty additional students under the arrangement.

While calling on the Beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity, the first lady explained that adequate arrangements have been made to ensure the security and welfare of the students throughout the period.

Earlier the State Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development Alh. Adamu Manu Soro called on the students to conduct themselves and avoid any act of anti-social behaviour while in the school to guarantee their future.

Adamu Manu Soro, therefore, commended the State Government for introducing policies and programmes aimed at making the youth productive members of society.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed determination to reciprocate the gesture through better utilization of the opportunity provided them.
