Dr Mansur Isah Yelwa, a Bauchi based Islamic cleric has blamed prevalence of evil mindsets among Nigerians for the unending insecurity challenges facing the country.
The cleric said contrary to the popular feeling of being attached to a particular religious sect by Nigerians, “they commit atrocities and other evil deeds” that are now consuming innocent citizens of the country.
Dr Yelwa stated this while making a presentation during a Ramadan lecture in Bauchi.
He said most of the challenges facing the country are due to the negative behaviour of some people and called for attitudinal change if Nigerians are serious about curtailing the current shabby security situation.
Registrar of Federal University Kashere, Kabiru Garba Aminu called for effective enforcement of the laws of the land for peace to reign in the society.
Malam Sulaiman Ibrahim, the General Manager Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) Bauchi, expressed delight in the turnout of people, said the lecture was part of the social responsibility of the station to ensure that youth are having good moral behaviour through religious programmes.
