Bauchi State Deputy Governor, Muhammad Auwal Jatau, has been appointed Chairman of the state Task Force on Primary Health Care Development Agency (PHCDA).
The permanent secretary, state Ministry of Health, Ali Babayo, announced the appointment at the quarterly meeting of the PHCDA task force held at deputy governor’s office, last Friday.
The permanent secretary said the deputy governor is a bonafide member and expert in the health sector who has vast knowledge to successfully pilot the affairs of the committee.

Speaking at the meeting, Jatau promised to work in close collaboration with PHCDA, traditional leaders as well as development partners to achieve excellence in the health sector in the state.
According to the deputy governor, the purpose of the meeting was to familiarize members of the task force and update them on the structure and operations of the agency including the leadership of the PHCDA as well as structuring community engagement strategies in the state.
The meeting was attended by the Emir of Dass, Dr Othman Bilyaminu Usman, the 20 local government chairmen and development partners among others.
