The Emir of Bauchi, Dr. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, has honored Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, with the esteemed traditional title of Mai Nasaran Bauchi.
This is coming barely two days after the Emir sacked another traditional title holder, Senator Shehu Buba Umar of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Sen. Umar had severely criticized Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed, after the governor earlier chided President Tinubu at a campaign rally.
The Pate’s new title, which means “The Successful Man of Bauchi,” is a recognition of his contributions to the health sector and his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people of Bauchi and Nigeria at large, according to the palace.
The event attracted a distinguished gathering, including the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, various state and federal government officials, and traditional leaders from across the country.
The Emir lauded Pate’s dedication to improving healthcare infrastructure, expanding access to healthcare services, and promoting health education within Bauchi and beyond.
In his acceptance speech, Professor Pate expressed deep gratitude to the Emir and the people of Bauchi for the honour bestowed upon him.
He pledged to continue his relentless efforts to enhance the health and wellbeing of Nigerians, affirming his commitment to living up to the trust placed on him by the Emir and the people.
The conferment of the Mai Nasaran Bauchi title is an acknowledgment of Professor Pate’s impactful work in the health sector, further solidifying his resolve to improve the lives of Nigerians.
