Bauchi Emirate Withdraws Senator’s Title After Criticizing Governor Publicly

The Bauchi Emirate Council has officially revoked the traditional title of Mujaddadin Bauchi from Senator Shehu Buba Umar.

The decision was communicated through a letter addressed to the senator and dated August 14, 2024.

The letter, signed by the Council Secretary, Nasiru Musa, noted that the decision was reached following a critical meeting of the Emirate Council, presided over by the Emir of Bauchi, Alh. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu.

The Council said it has reviewed recent happenings that were deemed abusive to the governor by Senator Umar which violated the established norms and traditions of the Bauchi Emirate.

According to the letter, the Council expressed concerns over what it described as disobedience and abuse associated with the senator’s conduct towards the Governor of Bauchi State.
