Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has distributed Sallah clothes to 4,000 People’s Democratic Party, PDP, youths in the state ahead of this year’s Idil-Fitr festivities.
The Youths were selected from each of the 20 local government areas of the state to benefit from the gesture of the governor.
Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed who was represented at the distribution ceremony held in Bauchi on Saturday by his youth aide, Allahi Bala Ciroma, said youths played vital roles in the success story of Governor Bala’s led administration.
He said that youths occupied a prime place in the scheme of policy and projects of Governor Bala Abdulkadir, hence his commitment to putting smiles on their faces.
He explained that 200 youths were selected to get five-yard of Shadda from each of the 20 local governments of the state.
Bala Ciroma said that prior to the commencement of Ramadan fasting, Governor Bala Abdulkadir distributed palliatives to youths in the state in his bid to cushion the effects of the current economic realities on them.
Speaking at the event, Alhaji Murtala Abubakar, Bauchi State PDP Youths Leader, urged the 20 local government’s Youths Leaders to ensure equitable distribution of the textiles to the beneficiaries in their respective local governments.
He emphasised the need for them to ensure that the materials get to the ward level as designed so as to carrying everybody along.
Earlier speaking, Hon Sulamain Mai Poster, SSA Governor’s Office, said that the PDP led administration in Bauchi State has done well in turning the fortunes of youths in the state around over the past two years.
Hon Mai Poster urged the 20 local governments’ PDP Youth Leaders to eschew sharing the textiles with families close relatives in other to avoid creating room for disunity among youths in the state.
Some of the PDP Youths Leaders who spoke to WikkiTimes thanked Governor for the gesture promising to distribute the materials equally and fairly among the parties supporters within their areas of jurisdiction.
