Bauchi State governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has commended members of the state assembly for supporting his administration despite what he described as political differences between him and the law makers.
The governor who made the commendation when members of the Assembly paid him a congratulatory visit for his victory at the supreme court said the Assembly has demonstrated leadership competence by supporting his policies and programs despite being in the opposition.
Most members of the Assembly are of the opposition All Progressives Congress.
The governor described as commendable the mutual relationship that exists between him and the state’s law makers.
He attributed the successes recorded by his administration in the last few months to the support and cooperation of the lawmakers and called for its sustenance.
The governor reiterated the commitment of his administration in intensifying on revenue generation to consolidate on the monthly federal allocation accrued to the state.
The Speaker, Abubakar Y Suleiman said the visit was to congratulate the governor over his victory at the supreme court.He said the lawmakers will consolidate on oversight functions as enshrined in the principles of separation of power in a participatory democracy.
