Similarly, Bauchi, over the years, enjoyed relative peace despite being the gateway to the insurgency-ravaged northeastern part of the country. In addition, Bauchi shared borders with states known for ethno-religious conflicts and banditry such as Plateau, Kaduna and Taraba.

Governor Mohammed disclosed this in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado and made available to reporters in Bauchi Tuesday.

The governor directed Dr Chiroma to handover affairs of his office to Chief Security Officer (CSO) to the governor.

“The termination of his appointment was conveyed to him through a letter signed by Secretary to the State Government, barrister Ibrahim Kashim,” the statement read in some part.

While commending Dr Chiroma for the services rendered to Bauchi State during his time as Chief Security Adviser, governor Mohammed wished him well in his future endeavours.
