Bauchi Gov Visits Alkaleri Community After Bandits’ Attack

Bauchi State Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has paid a condolence visit to Sabon Gidan Jada community of Alkaleri local government of the state where a failed bandits attack left four persons killed with scores of others injured. The governor who hailed from the local government said local populations in the state must take responsibility for their security situations in collaboration with security agencies.

He said it is uncalled for that despite the peaceful atmosphere Bauchi State is known for, some disgruntled elements are bent to disrupt public peace in the state.

He therefore, called on Bauchi people to support security operatives in their communities with intelligent information for proactive measures to be taken.

The Governor however promised to strengthen relations between communities and the security agencies, particularly the Police, in order to further maintain the hitherto peace enjoyed in the state.

While sympathizing with the residents of Sabon Gari Jada, the Governor described Maryam Mohammed who was killed while preventing the bandits from killing her son as a heroine.

He said that her death was not in vain saying his administration will immortalize her because according to the Governor, “her heroic act was an example for others, especially women.”

WikkiTimes recalls that on June 17th, unknown gunmen attacked Sabon Garin Jada in a failed kidnapping attempt. The attacker left four persons dead with four others injured.
