Bauchi state government has secured the award of$3 million USfor the implementation of “Better Education Service Delivery for All” a federalgovernment project.
The State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed who disclosedthis at the launching of the programme at Alkaleri local government area of the
state, said already, over N53 million has been approved for the provision ofteaching and learning materials.Governor Bala Mohammed also disclosed the released of over N436 million as part of government’s support to the programme being run by NEI-plus, a USAID intervention programme in the state.
The State Minister for Education, Mr. Chukwuemeka Nnajiubasaid the federal government has released huge amount of money for the projectin order to address in-balances in school attendance.
Also speaking, the National Coordinator of the Programme,Professor Tahir Gidado recalled that the project was initiated in 2016, withthe aim of reducing the number of out of school children by supportingintensive literacy programmes.
