Bauchi governor flags off 58.4km Alkaleri-Tafawa Balewa road, to spend N8 billion

Bauchi state governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has on Saturday flagged off the construction a 58.4km road linking Alkaleri and Tafawa Balewa local government Areas of the state at the cost of over 8 billion naira.

The benefiting communities are Yalwan Duguri to Badaran Dutse, Birim-Bajama to Kumbala, Kundak-Wurno to Burga.

Speaking at the project site in Burga Town of Tafawa Balewa, the governor says a substantial 4 billion naira has already been released.

The governor said the award for the construction was to address the suffering of people living in the areas and to boost commercial activities.

The governor applauded the communities for enduring inept leadership that failed to address their urgent needs in the past.

Governor Bala reiterated the commitment of his administration in fulfilling all his campaign promises.

Commenting on the development, the permanent secretary, state ministry of works and transport, Engr. Stephen Abubakar said the road when completed, would increase accesses to social amenities and other opportunities associated with road transport among communities in the area.

The road was scheduled to be completed within two years.
