Shamsudden Bala Mohammed, the son of Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, launched a series of insults on Twitter at a social media user who criticised him for his alleged obsession with political appointments and corrupt dealings.
The expletive-laced tweet, posted on his official handle @shamsudeen_bala, launched deeply offensive insults against one A Malaika, targeting his mother.
“Are you sick in the head?!. Come and meet me face to face and tell Me such if truly you are a child of your mother, Kaji Tsinanne?!. Such an insult And waste of your Education, so just because some idiot opens his mouth and allege without proof does that mean it’s true, if that’s the case, I allege your mother is a whore and you are a bastard child, and that also makes it true.”
Shamsu’s angry post was triggered by comments accusing him of lobbying aggressively for political appointments and exploiting his father’s influence to further personal interests—an accusation that has trailed him for years.
The social media user had accused Shamsu of his lust for power and perceived use of political influence for personal enrichment. The critic had questioned his alleged shady dealings, comments that appeared to hit a nerve.
Shamsuddeen’s latest meltdown reveals his long-standing pattern of belligerent behaviour, which has strained his relationships with the public, the press, and even his own family.

What began as a retaliatory arrest of a lecturer, Dr. Abubakar Ahmad, who was arrested for sharing a video of Shamsuddeen dancing with his wife, spiralled into scandalous revelations implicating the governor’s son, wife, and even the Bauchi State Chief Judge in alleged corruption and abuse of power.
Renowned activist Omoyele Sowore exposed how a front company tied to Shamsudden was allegedly awarded the central Market reconstruction project in Bauchi through dubious means. Sowore also detailed alleged land-grabbing and schemes involving Shamsuddeen and the First Lady.
In reaction, Governor Bala Mohammed was privately quoted as telling his son: “I have repeatedly warned you to stop being childish in your public conduct, but you don’t hear words.”
The scandal did not just provoke public backlash, but also fractured the governor’s extended family. Mutawakkil Adamu Mohammed, a relative, lamented: “Shamsu has scandalised our entire family.”
