Bauchi Govt Appropriates N3.5b For Agric Development


Bauchi State Government has proposed over three point five billion in its 2022 budget for the development of the agricultural sector of the state.

Alhaji Yakubu Jibrin Abdullahi, Permanent Secretary Bauchi State Ministry of Agriculture stated this shortly after defending the ministry’s budget at the Complex of the State House of Assembly in Bauchi.

The Permanent Secretary said that Bauchi State will invest more in its agricultural sector to achieve food sufficiency, reduce poverty, and raise income among others.

The Permanent Secretary explained that Governor Bala Muhammad was committed to youth and women empowerment on modern and mechanized farming in order to have a bumper harvest.

Globe Fm reports that plans are underway by the Bauchi State Government to subsidize the price of fertilizer in the next farming season from its current price of N8,000 to N7,500.
