Bauchi State Government has on Thursday approved the immediate employment of 252 pre-service medical students to fill the gap of short manpower supply to health institutions of the state.
Bauchi State Head of Service, Yahuza Adamu, said this in a statement issued to reporters in Bauchi.
He said the effort is part of the commitment of the present administration’s desire not only to provide employment opportunities to the teeming youths in the States but to improve healthcare service delivery to the people at the grassroots level as well as to provide human capital investment for the state health sector.
Mr. Yahuza assured that his office has concluded arrangements to ensure the necessary documentation of the medical students for the immediate issuance of their appointment letters as directed by the State Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir.
The Head of Civil Service emphasized that the present administration under Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir is determined to improve all sectors of the State Service in general and the Health sector particularly for the betterment of the State’s Citizens.
Previously, the governor had given approval for the employment of 1,061 Pre-Service Medical Students into the State’s main service. This is in addition to the approval for the employment of another 116 Community Midwives in order to provide Health Care Services to the people of Bauchi State.
