Bauchi govt takes measures against outbreak of Coronavirus

Bauchi State Government says it has taken proactive measures to prevent the outbreak of Corona Virus disease in the state.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr Aliyu Mohammed Maigoro disclosed this while addressing journalists in Bauchi.

The Commissioner said following the report of the outbreak of the disease in Lagos State, the state government under the leadership of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has immediately swung into action so as to expeditiously prevent the spread of the disease in the state.

According to him, due to his utmost concern, the governor has set aside millions of naira for the procurement of additional basic equipment and tools including infra-red thermometers, hand sanitizers, awareness and surveillance.

Dr Maigoro said some of the measures taken by the state government include among others, strengthening and expanding of the current Lassa Emergency Preparedness Response Team at the Emergency Operation Center, improving the standard of the State Isolation Centers at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital Bauchi and propositioning of drugs and other consumables.

The Health Commissioner assured citizens of the state that the state government is always ready to partner with critical stakeholders in its determination towards providing them with quality Healthcare services.

Dr Maigoro used the medium to appreciate development partners, traditional and religious leaders for their continuous support in improving the healthcare sector and services in the state
