Bauchi Govt To Sponsor 30,000 Students For 2022 WAEC, NECO – Dr Tilde

Bauchi State Government has said it will the registration fees of about 30,000 students of the state to sit this year’s Senior School Certificate Examination organised by the West African Examination Council, WAEC and National Examination Council, NECO.

The Commissioner for Education Dr Aliyu Usman Tilde said this in Bauchi yesterday while speaking to our correspondent on phone.

He said the state government will pay the registration fee of senior secondary school students of Bauchi State extraction who pass the mandatory mock exams.

The Commissioner insisted that any student who failed to score the average pass mark set for the mock exams will not benefit from the sponsorship, saying that their parents will have to pay for them.

He said the state government paid WAEC and NECO registration of over 28,000 students over the last two years with the ratio of 13,000 students in 2021 and 15,000 students in 2020.

He however debunked that the state government will not conduct an Aptitude Test for the candidates this year, stressing that it is sacrosanct and a prerequisite for candidates to benefit from the state government’s support.

Dr Tilde warned any public school against imposing any extra fee above the stipulated amount also appealed to parents to be dauntless on the changes as Bauchi state charges the least amount, called on them to send the students back to schools on time.
